Letter to Rebecca Nyadeng Mabore

ToRebecca Nyadeng Mabore

Minister of Transportation

Government of Southern Sudan

We are writing to let you know that there is an organization in Nebraska ready to support the children of South Sudan with education for grades 1 – 12. We have installed in computers educational software on all subjects – math, science, geography, chemistry, biology, physics, calculus, trigonometry, art, religion, English and instrumental and vocal music. The computers also have medical software which will be valuable for education, and also for people in the health field to use in diagnosing and prescribing medications for diseases

The Superior Pawnee Computer Society has 300 refurbished computers ready to ship as the first installment of our donation to the people of Southern Sudan. They will go to the educational centers Guk Rut is setting up at Juba, Malakal and Rumbek. Computers will also be given to other organizations which will use them to teach children.

In the future, we expect to install a satellite in Sudan, so that computer users there can access the World Wide Web. Right now, we have the technical ability, but not the funds.

The Superior Pawnee Computer Society has a connection with the South Sudan Computer Society, which Guk has registered there, and which is now functioning. He will meet with you in Juba when you return to Sudan and can tell you more about both organizations.

The SPCS will ship the 300 computers to Mombassa, Kenya, as soon as funds are available. At Mombassa, the computers will become the property of the South Sudan Computer Society. The will be transported under the auspices of the United States Agency for International Development.

The reason we are writing you is that we wish you, as Minister of Transportation, to help us to transport the computers to Juba, Malakal and Rumbek. Anything that we ship from American, we know that you will help us to transport those things from Mombassa to Southern Sudan, because all things will help the children of Southern Sudan.

Respectfully,
Larry and Sharon Yost, 402-879-1046, 3291
