Previously located at 515 Main Street, the Pantry needed a new space as the church property transitioned back to residential use. After productive discussions, SPCS and the Pantry finalized a plan to use the Community Room in the Admin Building for at least one year.
The new location provides a private, accessible space that supports the Pantry’s mission of helping families in need throughout Springfield and nearby areas. It includes approximately 9 coolers, shelving, and other equipment, generously provided by nonprofit partners and donors.
Pantry visitors are served by appointment to ensure privacy and flexibility. Volunteers praise the setup, and school operations remain uninterrupted. Schools across the district continue to donate food, continuing a long-standing tradition of support. (Top right: SPCS students are pictured delivering donations to the pantry.)
This partnership reflects the power of community collaboration. SPCS is proud to help the Pantry in its vital work to fight hunger.
