SPCS Welcomes School Social Worker For the First Time
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our school community! Thanks to a five-year grant in partnership with the Omaha Area Learning Community, our district is adding a School Social Worker for the first time.
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Taylor Stanton to this important new role! Taylor is a proud graduate of Platteview High School and has deep roots in our community. She brings extensive experience from her work with the Sarpy County Public Defender’s Office and her current role at Lutheran Family Services. Her dedication to supporting students and families makes her a perfect fit for our district.
Taylor will officially join our team on March 24th. After she begins, you’ll likely see her in our buildings as she meets with teams and learns what makes our district special.
While we are in the early stages of developing a strong program, here are some of the key ways Taylor will support our students and staff:
- Enhancing Student Well-Being – Helping students navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges.
- Providing Mental Health Support – Offering guidance and resources for anxiety, depression, and other concerns.
- Assisting Families – Connecting students and their families to essential support services.
- Promoting a Safe School Environment – Preventing and responding to bullying while fostering inclusion.
- Improving Attendance – Identifying and addressing barriers to student engagement.
- Collaborating with Teachers and Parents – Strengthening our team-based approach to student success.
- Connecting to Community Resources – Helping families access food, housing, and healthcare when needed.
We are so excited to have Taylor on board and look forward to building a program that will make a lasting impact on our students and families. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome!
