SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Special Services

Springfield Platteview Community Schools provide a variety of high quality services to over 160 students with varying needs and disability levels. We offer special education services at each building in the district; however, some programs are available only at selected sites.

School buses carry many children every day, so keeping them safe is essential to preventing accidents and injuries during their ride. Bus safety plays a vital role in making sure children get to school and back home safely. For detailed information on our safety rules, please click on the arrows below.

“Child Find” refers to the process of locating, identifying, and evaluating children with disabilities to ensure that they receive the services to which they are entitled.

Children and youth ages birth to 21 living within Springfield Platteview Community Schools boundaries and suspected of having a disability may be referred for a possible evaluation to determine if they are eligible for special education services.

SPCS also conducts evaluations for students attending nonpublic schools located within the Springfield Platteview Community Schools boundaries who are referred to us by Springfield Platteview Community Schools or their resident district.

To refer a child, please contact either your building principal or the Special Education Department at the Springfield Platteview Community Schools administrative office at 14801 S. 108th St., Springfield, NE 68059, or call (402) 592.1300.

All Nebraska state agency regulations are compiled in the Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC). Each agency is assigned certain titles of the code for its rules and regulations. The regulations and standards for Special Education Programs are contained in NDE Rule 51.
