Our Proud History

Springfield Platteview, community schools, connecting passion with potential logo in red and blue

On September 30, 1958, residents from 13 rural Class 1 school districts in Sarpy County, Nebraska, overwhelmingly voted to merge into a single Class III school district, with a remarkable 70% turnout and a 6 to 1 margin in favor. This new district became known as Springfield Platteview Community Schools.

On April 2, 1959, the community supported a significant step forward by passing an $890,000 bond issue with 85% approval, aimed at acquiring land and constructing a new junior/senior high school, which remains known as Platteview. Over the past 60 years, we have witnessed incredible transformations.
