Information Technology encompasses many things at SPCS, but our primary function is to provide state-of-the-art technology and systems that enhance teaching and learning in our schools. At Springfield Platteview Community Schools, we do the following:
Maintain a fast and reliable fiber optic wide area network (WAN) accessible via high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity in our schools.
Provide our staff and students with state-of-the-art technology to enhance teaching and engage students in learning while developing valuable 21st-century skills.
Support our staff and students when they encounter difficulties with technology, have a problem to solve, or have a project they need help completing.
Coach our staff and students on the responsible, productive, and efficient use of technology to accomplish daily tasks and complete assigned work.
Technology has injected itself into nearly every facet of American life. At SPCS, we strive to ensure our students develop the skills they need to be successful while in school and after they leave us to go to college or join the workforce. Our 1:1 technology initiative established in 2012 helps us do just that. All students in grades K-12 are issued an Apple iPad.
Apple Computer has been our primary supplier of desktop, laptop, and tablet devices used by staff and students since the inception of our 1:1 program in 2012.
Google provides our staff and students with useful online tools via Google Workspace including email, cloud storage, productivity apps, and more.
Mosyle allows us to
efficiently and effectively manage our entire fleet of over 2,000 Apple devices including iMacs, MacBooks, Mac Minis, iPads, and Apple TVs.
PrimeSecured, based in Elkhorn, Nebraska, is a local technology company that supports our HP/Aruba data network, Avaya IP phone system, and Genetec physical security system.
SEGRA Provides fiber optic connectivity between our buildings and the Internet.
KCAV is our audio/visual systems solutions provider and hardware reseller of large format displays, sound systems, and interactive touch displays.
Educational Service Unit #3 in Omaha assists us with technical support on several fronts.
