Springfield Platteview Voters Approve School Bond with No Tax Rate Increase
SPRINGFIELD, Neb. — Voters in the Springfield Platteview Community Schools District have approved the District’s $79.9 million school bond in the February 10, 2026, mail-in election.
“With strong community support reflected in these results, we are grateful for the trust placed in our district,” said Superintendent Dr. Ryan Saunders. “We are committed to honoring that trust by delivering safe, high-quality facilities that serve our students for generations.”
With all precincts reporting, unofficial results show the bond passing with 68.36% voting FOR said bonds and tax and 31.64% voting AGAINST said bonds and tax. A total of 2,140 votes were cast. The Sarpy County Election Commissioner’s Office will canvass and certify the results, with final certification expected February 18, 2026.
The bond authorizes up to $79,900,000 to fund facility improvements, safety and security upgrades, expanded academic programming, and the construction of a new elementary school, all with a planned 0% tax levy rate increase.
Springfield Platteview maintains one of the lowest school tax levies in the region. Through responsible fiscal management, growth in assessed valuation, and the retirement of existing debt, the District is able to move forward without increasing the overall tax levy rate.

- Fall 2028: Junior/Senior High construction anticipated to be complete.
- Fall 2029: Oak Leaf Elementary projected to open.
The District will continue to provide updates on certification and construction milestones as the projects move forward.
