Welcome New Foundation Board Member: Jacob Betsworth
The Springfield Platteview Education Foundation is excited to welcome Jacob Betsworth as one of our newest board members, elected on August 21.
Jacob has dedicated nearly 20 years of his career to public service with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office. Since starting in 2005, he has served in nearly every division, steadily working his way up the ranks to his current role as Chief Deputy, the second in command at the office. His leadership has included launching community programs like the Stop the Bleed lifesaving initiative in local schools and helping establish Sarpy County’s first Mental Health Crisis Response Unit.
In addition to his career in law enforcement, Jacob has been a strong presence in community leadership. He recently concluded six years as President of the Papillion Community Foundation, currently serves as Chairman of the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce Board, and is an active member of the Leadership Sarpy Advisory Board.
Jacob and his family have lived in the Platteview community since 2020. He and his wife have two children who attend schools in the district. After attending several Foundation events, Jacob was inspired to step in and serve. He looks forward to bringing his nonprofit leadership, event planning, and financial management experience to help the Foundation continue supporting teachers and students.
“We have been in private school, public school in Papillion, and now Springfield Platteview. It has been our favorite, and I look forward to helping,” Jacob shared.
Please join us in welcoming Jacob to the Foundation Board!
